Commercial species

We collect evidence on a range of commercial fisheries stocks in UK waters. This information is combined with that of other scientists' and forms the advice presented by the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) to UK, European and other nations' decision-makers and fisheries managers.

For the most up-to-date advice  about a range of commercial fisheries - including anglerfish, bass, cod, haddock, hake, herring, whiting,  mackeral, megrim, plaice and sole - visit the ICES website.

In addition to the ICES advice that we contribute to, we present here further information on species of particular interest. In some cases, these may not currently be collected under the auspices of ICES.
